Community Involvement

Saint Francis Service Dogs

Saint Francis Services Dogs is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help children and adults with disabilities become more independent and self-sufficient through partnership with a professionally-trained service dog.

The organization is also committed to promoting the use and acceptance of service dogs through public and professional education, providing advocacy for service dog partners, and supporting the growth of the service dog industry on a national level.

Saint Francis serves the Commonwealth of Virginia and areas within a three-hour drive from the Saint Francis facility at 8232 Enon Drive, Roanoke, Virginia 24019.

Krista Vannoy is a long-time volunteer for the organization and currently serves on the Board of Directors and is raising Allie, a Labrador retriever puppy and future service dog, for the organization.  Allie, or other Saint Francis service dogs-in-training, are often in the office where they receive valuable socialization skills, guidance, and love from the entire staff.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia provides quality after-school and summer programs which promote and enhance the development of boys and girls ages 5-18. The organization’s mission is “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as responsible, caring, productive citizens.” By providing a safe environment and an encouraging, professional staff, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia proves year after year that “great futures start here.”

Michael Waldvogel is immediate past president of the Board of Trustees and has served on the Board since 2001. Michael founded Four on the 4th, a four-mile charity run benefiting the organization, and Krista Vannoy serves as Race Director for the run. In its inaugural year (2011), the race generated more than $23,000 in new revenue for the organization.

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke is a Christ-centered, anti-poverty organization that helps individuals and families go from lost and broken to found and thriving. The multi-denominational organization provides emergency shelter for the homeless, healthcare for the hurting, residential recovery for the addicted, and a place for people to come when life becomes too much to handle alone. The Rescue Mission services have changed thousands of lives over the years and touched millions. The Rescue Mission is a home where health, hope, and healing are most important, and where success can go from a dream to reality.

Since 2014, Jason Fountain has served on the board of the Rescue Mission Foundation working with other business leaders who support the mission to grow an endowment fund established in 1991. With a gift to The Rescue Mission Foundation, donors can invest their gift today so that it continues helping people in crisis tomorrow. Possible gifts to the Foundation include bequests, charitable gift annuities, appreciated assets such as real estate or stock, trusts, or cash. Donors can even direct their gift to endow specific ministries at the Rescue Mission.

Young Life

With the mission of “Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith,” Young Life doesn’t start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. Through weekly club meetings, Bible studies, and weekend and summer camps, Young Life provides fun, adventurous, life-changing and skill-building experiences—all of which are designed to communicate God’s love.

Steve Zegarski and Jason Fountain have both served on the staff of Young Life in the Roanoke and Salem communities. Most recently, Jason has served on the Salem / North Roanoke adult committee, and Steve has served as the local Committee Chairperson for Young Life Roanoke Valley.

What our clients have been saying

I just wanted to drop you a short note to thank you and Krista for all the help on my buying the apartments in Buchanan, Va. The time flow chart as to when things would be done was great. Your quick responses to my phone calls and questions made this purchase go smoothly, and helped immensely in easing Lynn’s and my apprehensions.

Thanks again for your help.
